Mission Mars of India...

The Indian Mars mission called Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) was launched on November 5th this year.Its code name is Mangalyaan which means "Mars-Craft" in Sanskrit. And once again Mylswamy Annadurai is the Program Director after being successful for the Chandrayaan mission and Subbiah Arunan is the Project Director. S.K. Shivakumar of ISAC was responsible for the orbiting payload and also oversaw design and design and development of the orbiter. Its major objectives include deep space communication, navigation, mission planning and management. Another objective is to incorporate autonomous features to handle contingency situations. Another of its objective is to explore Mars' surface features, morphology, mineralogy and Martian Atmosphere using Indigenous Scientific equipment.
