Nalanda University to be back?

On march 28 2006, the then President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had proposed the idea of establishing a New Nalanda University around 25km from the existing site. The Act of Nalanda University was implemented on November 25 2010. Being Buddhist countries, Japan and Singapore are financing the construction work by funding around US$100 million. It has been estimated the US$500 million will be required to build the University and another US$500m to improve the surrounding infrastructure. Therefore the group is looking for donations from around the world. For the best-in-class architecture, a global competition was held to decide the Architecture company. Vashtu Shilpa Consultants have been decided the winner of the Designing Competition.
